There are many benefits to printable dollhouse wallpaper, along with a few drawbacks. Below I take a closer look at the options for this type of dollhouse wallpaper and where you can find designs for free - including on this page!! So what are the benefits of free printable dollhouse wallpaper: It's often free! In some cases you may have to pay to download certain designs, but it's unlikely to cost more than a few pounds.You can have your wallpaper in your hands a few minutes after choosing it. As most dollhouse wallpaper has to be ordered online, printing your own is a much quicker option.There are hundreds of different designs, and if you can't find one you like, you can design and print your own, for free! BUT, if you don't have time to make your own dollhouse wallpaper, I recommend checking out the wallpaper available from Melody Jane, such as this beautiful design in a 1:12 scale. How to make your own dollhouse wallpaper using Canva You can use Canva to design and print your own printable dollhouse wallpaper. You can sign up for a free subscription, but you won't get very many patterns to choose from compared to the Pro paid-for membership. If you only want one design and aren't too fussy about the pattern, then you'll be fine with the free membership. When you come to selecting your patterns, the free ones are labelled as free and the Pro paid for images will have a little crown next to them. in the video below, I walk you through how to make your own dollhouse wallpaper in Canva, or you can follow the step by step tutorial after the video! https://youtu.be/xKpfP3nbGQI I made the above designs using a Pro membership and I wanted to share some tips below on how you can make your own dollhouse wallpaper using Canva. Step 1 - Type in 'A4 document' in the search bar and select 'Create a blank A4 document' Step 2 - Select on 'Elements' on the left-hand side and use the search box to type in what type of wallpaper you want, followed by the word 'pattern' and select 'Graphics' - this will show you the illustrations related to your search term. In the example below I was searching for 'flower patterns'. Step 3 - Select the pattern you want and it will appear in the middle of the paper. Select 'Position' at the top right of the screen and then align your pattern to the top left of the paper. Resize the image to about 5x5 so it's about the right size for the scale of a 12:1 dollhouse. This isn't an exact art - just play around with what size seems to work best for your dollhouse! Step 4 - Finally, copy and paste your resized square across the page until the white space is covered. Then go to the download arrow button in the top right corner and select 'PNG' from the drop down menu. Print and you're done! Not all of the images on Canva are suitable for tiling: Some images have a white line around the edge which means that even when you line them up perfectly, the line is still visible and it will break up your wallpaper pattern.Some of the patterns don't line up with each other at the edge of the tiles, this means that you'll have to do a lot of fiddling about to ensure the pattern is aligned. It can be done but it takes a lot more time than using a pattern that aligns at the edge.You can upload you own images to Canva, or free images from places like Pixabay or Pexels, and use these to create wallpapers too. There is a function in Canva to import images from these two places but I couldn't see a way of filtering them so I find it easier to select the images from the Pixabay or Pexels website and then upload them into Canva. You can print the wallpaper on regular office paper or card stock. Card stock is more durable and less likely to rip when you glue it and smooth it out on the dollhouse walls. Free printable dollhouse wallpaper from across the web Many dollhouse wallpapers available online are not suitable for modern dollhouses, but there are hundreds of different patterns to choose, from so it's possible to find something to suit your project, whatever period your dollhouse is set in. Wallpaper Cave - Good selection of dollhouse wallpaper with patterns suitable for a range of dollhouse styles. This web page has a particularly good selection of floral dollhouse wallpapers. Greenleaf Dollhouse Forum Gallery - This page has hundreds of different retro wallpaper patterns. Definitely more suited to vintage style dollhouses but there's also a great range of wall and brick patterns. I love this pattern in particular as it's very similar to the vintage wallpaper that my grandparents used to have. Print Mini - This website has a huge range of dollhouse printables, including this selection of mainly retro wallpaper. Jennifer's Printables - This should be your 'go-to' place for printable dollhouse wallpaper throughout the ages as the selection is huge and it's handily categorised by age and style. This means you can match the style you're working to with wallpaper from the right era. I've used this site many times and it's a great place for wallpapers including boarders, kids' wallpapers, floors and bricks. What happens when a 5 year old becomes a wallpaper designer?
